Updates 12/16/17

Hi Parents,

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend. Our Holiday Party for our class is December 19 from 1:30-2:30. Please look at the sign up if you can donate something for the party.

School Reminders:
  • Please join the PTA. We are trying to have 100% participation.  
  • Our Box Tops for Education collection drive has begun!  Please send in your Box Tops to your child's teacher. This year's contest will run from September 12th - February 15th. 
  • Coming up are 'Perform for the Class Days', which we have twice a year.  All students have the opportunity to perform something musical if they'd like to.  Any instrument brought from home may be played for the class, students may sing a song, either accompanied or unaccompanied, and pianists may play their latest piece BUT must bring sheet music to prove that they study piano. Students who would like to sing with a recording they found on the internet should send a link to angie_mcdaniel@roundrockisd.org because we might not find the right one if we try to search for it.  Mrs. Gentry’s class is Monday, December 17.
  • Yearbook - 2018-2019 FCE Yearbooks are now on sale!  Yearbooks will only be sold ONLINE again this year - cash or check payments will only be accepted in May after all pre-ordered books are distributed but don’t wait til then - they may all sell out!  The earlier you order, the less you pay! Orders placed before December 20th are only $25 - starting on December 21st, the price increases to $30. Click here to see information flyer. Go to www.balfour.com and enter Forest Creek Elementary to make your purchase - you will also be able to design and purchase your own HOWL on that same site!  A HOWL is a business card sized ad that allows you to recognize your student or a staff member in the yearbook. you have ANY questions about the Yearbook, please contact Regina Maldonado at fcepta.yearbook@gmail.com

  • Our annual Literacy & Multicultural Night will be held on Thursday, December 6th from 5-7pm. Student work will be on display and a Multicultural Fair will be in full swing in the gym. Classrooms will begin to close at 6:15pm so we can gather for a special presentation by Mother Goose to close out the night.
  • The referral window for students to be considered for gifted services is from November 12, 2018 – December 7, 2018. This is the ONLY open window for referrals for current Round Rock ISD students. Students are eligible for assessment once every two years. If you would like to refer your child for testing, please fill out the following online form.  Additionally, on the last item of the form, you will be prompted to print and complete a PERMISSION TO TEST form. You will need to turn this paper form into the child’s campus. If you are not able to complete the online form, print the permission to test, OR you need Spanish versions of either, please contact your campus TAG specialist (elementary) or counselor (secondary). Mrs. Angell and Mrs. Jezisek will share details regarding the district’s Referral, Screening, and Placement for Talented and Gifted Services. This meeting is for parents only; childcare will not be available.
