Welcome back! I can't wait to meet you on Monday, August 15 for school supply drop off

I am so thrilled to start another year of second grade. I love encouraging children to grow in their learning
and reach their goals. Teaching is a passion of mine that continues to thrive within me each year. I get
excited about all the things that second graders get to learn and the amazing novels that we get to delve
into together.I am from Friendswood, TX. It's a suburb of Houston that reminds me of Round Rock. I
ventured off to Austin to attend the University of Texas at Austin. There I received my BS in Applied
Learning and Development with a Minor in Psychology/Child Psychology. Throughout and after college
I volunteered with various organizations including Rosedale and Children's Hospital of Austin. After
college I nannied, tutored, subbed, and worked at Sylvan Learning Center until I started teaching
Pre-K at Forest Creek Elementary. Then I spent four years teaching third grade and switched to
second grade. This is my fifteenth year of teaching and my tenth year of teaching second grade.
utside of school, I stay very active. If it's outside, I'm there! I enjoy running, reading, and spending
time with my family and friends. I love UT Football and "How 'Bout Them Cowboys!" My husband
Johnathan and I will celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary this year. Our daughter Adalind is three,
and we are having a blast watching her learn and grow every day. I have an eleven year old stepson,
Brayden, who constantly lights up our lives. In addition, I get to spend every day helping my second
graders to be prepared for third grade and have a lot of fun in the process!Thank you for sharing
your kiddos with me this year! I hope to inspire all my students to become lifelong learners!
